Pet Trusts

At Lake Oswego Elder Law, we recognize that pets are important family members.  In 2012, Attorney Ellyn Stier completed continuing legal education to learn how to include pets in her clients’ estate plans, so that they are not treated like mere pieces of property.  Unlike most states, Oregon allows pet owners to create pet trusts to provide for the care of their animals.

We can also work with the Humane Society’s Friends Forever program to make sure that your pets are placed in a loving home if you do not have a person in mind to take them.
